Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors

There's no place like home for the First Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 54-50 W over Seven Rivers Christian on Monday. For First Academy, this counts as revenge for the 73-60 defeat Seven Rivers Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

First Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Smith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Norflee, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

First Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

First Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hampden DuBose Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hampden DuBose Academy is ranked 735th, while First Academy is ranked 741st). Seven Rivers Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lakeside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Lakeside Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully Seven Rivers Christian likes a good challenge.
