Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles vs. Olathe Northwest Ravens

Bishop Carroll made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Olathe Northwest, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Ravens by a score of 8-6 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-6 on Friday.

Allyson Orth put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kiersten Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Emerson May was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Bishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Olathe Northwest, the victory was the eighth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.
