Notre Dame Academy hasn't had much luck against Bay Port recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tritons will look to defend their home field against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Notre Dame Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Notre Dame Academy turned things around against Sheboygan South on Thursday. They never let the Redwings get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tritons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Ella Nowak made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Maddie Hilts was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Stella Starry was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Notre Dame Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan South struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bay Port). They came out on top against Appleton East by a score of 6-1 on Friday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Estelle Finlan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elly Rau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
The victory got Bay Port back to even at 2-2. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Notre Dame Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Bay Port when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Tritons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
