Softball Preview: Notre Dame Academy Tritons vs. Bay Port Pirates

Notre Dame Academy hasn't had much luck against Bay Port recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tritons will look to defend their home field against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Notre Dame Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Notre Dame Academy turned things around against Sheboygan South on Thursday. They never let the Redwings get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tritons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Ella Nowak made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elly Rau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The victory got Bay Port back to even at 2-2. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
