Baseball Game Preview: Bradford Prep Bears vs. Christ the King Crusaders

Bradford Prep hasn't had much luck against Christ the King recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bradford Prep Bears will head out on the road to take on the Christ the King Crusaders at 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bradford Prep's offense. They lost 13-0 to Christ the King on Tuesday. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

For Christ the King's part, Owen Shipman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave Shipman a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Patrick Walsh, who fired off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Troy Alderfer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Christ the King hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bradford Prep struck out 12 times.

The win made it two in a row for Christ the King and bumps their season record up to 2-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.5 hits in those games compared to only 4.75 in the others. As for Bradford Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
