Morgan had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Wednesday. They walked away with a 74-61 win over the Union Cougars. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 64-59 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Morgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bracken Saunders led the charge by going 8 for 20 on his way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Saunders is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Kolton Asay was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points and three steals.

Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Morgan pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Union, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-6.

Morgan will challenge South Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully South Summit likes a good challenge. As for Union, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Union Cougars duke it out with the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Union's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
