Basketball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

The Perry Pirates opened the new year with a less-than-successful 66-54 loss to the Grand Valley Mustangs.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Grand Valley, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Perry will welcome Orange at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Valley, they will take on Lordstown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
