The home team had won the previous four meetings between Mather and Schurz, and Schurz kept the tradition alive. The Rangers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Rangers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Esther Gouegnon paced Mather's offense, picking up four kills. Gouegnon got some help from Alexis Bui and her two assists. Finally, Gouegnon was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
