Basketball Recap: Dacula Piles Up the Points Against Mountain View

Dacula won the last time they faced Mountain View and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dacula Falcons breezed by the Mountain View Bears to the tune of 64-14. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Bears are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dacula got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaliyah Benefield out in front who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and six steals. Benefield has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jada Davis, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 17 points.

Dacula's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Mountain View, they dropped their record down to 1-24 with the loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Dacula Falcons face off against the Mill Creek Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
