Volleyball Recap: Carlsbad Lancers vs. Pacific Ridge Firebirds
Carlsbad was the 3-2 winner over Pacific Ridge when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Carlsbad Lancers fell just short of the Pacific Ridge Firebirds by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Carlsbad sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 18-25, 15-11.
Carlsbad's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pascal Dlugos, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Dlugos has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Fitzpatrick, who had four digs and two aces.
Kayla Moul had a dynamite game for Pacific Ridge, getting 15 digs and two aces.
Carlsbad's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Pacific Ridge, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 18-18 record.
Carlsbad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pacific Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Eastlake on the 1st.
