Football Game Preview: Timnath Cubs vs. Mead Mavericks

Timnath is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will head out on the road to challenge the Mead Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Timnath's defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so Mead's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Things were looking good for Timnath after they put the first points on the board last Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 27-15 to Wellington. The defeat continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mead was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 27-21 to Holy Family. The matchup marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Timnath will need to focus on slowing down Eli Davis, one of several Mead players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 39 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Mead also got a significant boost from Noah Chapala, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 126 yards.

Timnath was dealt a bruising 41-7 loss at the hands of Mead in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chapala, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries.
