Softball Recap: Seton Comes Up Short

Seton lost to Fredericksburg Christian back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Conquistadors came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-1. The Conquistadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Heiny, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That double was Heiny's first of the season.

Seton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Seton will host Quantico at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22 runs per game on average), something the Conquistadors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will head out to challenge Cape Henry Collegiate at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dolphins have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
