On Thursday, Lehi faced Timpanogos in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lehi Pioneers blew past the Timpanogos Timberwolves 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
While Lehi might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Timpanogos scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-22.
Ashton Shewell paced Lehi's offense, picking up 12 kills. Shewell got some help from Ty Reynolds and his 37 assists. Ian Wilson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Despite the loss, Timpanogos still got an impressive performance from Zaxen Downey, who had two aces and one block. That's the most aces Downey has posted over his last three contests.
Lehi's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Timpanogos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
