Basketball Game Preview: South Portland Red Riots vs. Portland Bulldogs

The South Portland Red Riots are taking a road trip to square off against the Portland Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

South Portland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Cheverus, who was ranked tenth at the time (South Portland was ranked eighth). South Portland took a hard 54-37 fall against Cheverus on Friday. The Red Riots have struggled against the Stags recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Portland made easy work of Oxford Hills on Friday and carried off a 62-42 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

South Portland's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Portland, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

South Portland took their victory against Portland when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 70-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Portland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
