Basketball Recap: Sparta Falls Short of Mosinee in the Playoffs

Sparta and Mosinee squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sparta had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 75-74 to the Mosinee Indians. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (72), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Mosinee found their leader in sophomore Brayden Reinke, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards. Reinke is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Treve Stoffel, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten assists.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Mosinee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-7.

Sparta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mosinee, they have already played their next match, an 80-67 defeat against Onalaska on the 8th.
