Mayer Lutheran not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 9-0). Everything went their way against Eagle Ridge Academy as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Chase Maetzold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Lucas Baumann was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jack Friske, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Mayer Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to an 2-2 tie later that day.
