Volleyball Recap: South Kitsap Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sumner on Thursday, South Kitsap came back down to earth. The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Kohana Castro paced South Kitsap's offense, picking up eight kills. Castro got some help from Leilani Killian and her 13 assists. Castro was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

South Kitsap has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Graham-Kapowsin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

As of now, neither South Kitsap nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
