Softball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short

Windsor extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 2-9. They came up short against the South Windsor Bobcats, falling 22-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-10 back in April.

As for South Windsor, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Considering they have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For South Windsor's part, the team relied heavily on Alivia Gliha, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. Those five hits gave Gliha a new career-high. Amanda Donovan was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Windsor will challenge rival East Hartford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South Windsor is set to take on their familiar foe Glastonbury at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
