Basketball Recap: Pocomoke Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Pocomoke waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Crisfield Crabbers 79-49. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Crabbers are ranked 194th).

Pocomoke's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JAYDEN MASON led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and 15 boards. MASON is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was MALACHI BONNEVILLE, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Pocomoke was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pocomoke's record is now 11-2. As for Crisfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Pocomoke will head out on the road to challenge Nandua at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pocomoke will be up against Nandua's rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.08 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Crisfield, they will take on Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
