Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Stewarts Creek Red Hawks

The Wilson Central Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilson Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Wilson Central lost to The Webb School on the road by a 64-45 margin. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Wilson Central had strong showings from Brooklyn Evert, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 22 points and five boards, and Brylee Fly, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave Fly a new career-high. Olivia Kinning was another key player, putting up four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Smyrna 50-27. Given the Red Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stewarts Creek's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Wilson Central, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Wilson Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Stewarts Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 53-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Stewarts Creek's Camden Ward, who went 7 for 11 en route to 18 points and seven boards.
