Volleyball Preview: Cathedral Fighting Irish vs. Carmel Greyhounds
On Wednesday Cathedral will have to hit the road after four straight games at home. They will venture away from home to face off against the Carmel Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. Cathedral will be strutting in after a win while Carmel will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Cathedral was able to grind out a solid victory over McCutcheon, taking the game 2-0.
Cathedral was dominant in the second set, but otherwise had just enough against a tough McCutcheon squad. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12.
Meanwhile, Carmel unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Noblesville by a score of 3-2.
Carmel took Noblesville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 13-25, 25-14, 17-15.
Cathedral is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Everything went Cathedral's way against Carmel in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, as Cathedral made off with a 3-0 win.
