Recap: IMG Academy Blue Ascenders vs. Northeast Vikings
The IMG Academy Blue Ascenders were the 87-39 winner over the Northeast Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. IMG Academy Blue was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 58-57 to Northeast. IMG Academy Blue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northeast found their leader in underclassman Jamaries Conyers, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Dominic Brown, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
IMG Academy Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Northeast, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
IMG Academy Blue's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. One thing working in Jesuit's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sumner at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Sumner will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
