Baseball Recap: Loudon Comes Up Short

Loudon was the 6-2 winner over South-Doyle when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Redskins took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokees on Wednesday.

Preston Clark made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Eli Kendrick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Loudon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. South-Doyle's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7-1.

When Loudon and South-Doyle next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Redskins will try to stop Lenoir City's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, South-Doyle will square off against King's Academy and their three-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
