Basketball Game Preview: Lithia Springs Lions vs. Eagle's Landing Eagles

The Lithia Springs Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Eagle's Landing Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lithia Springs is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rockdale County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Eagle's Landing came into Saturday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Lakeside by a score of 66-54 on Saturday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Vikings are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lithia Springs better focus on containing Dayveon Knight and Malik Hand as the pair were huge in Eagle's Landing's win. Knight went 5 for 7 on his way to 15 points, while Hand posted ten points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannibal Smith, who earned nine points.

Eagle's Landing was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lithia Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Eagle's Landing, their record now sits at 7-5.
