Basketball Recap: Crisp County Cougars vs. Carver Tigers

The Crisp County Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Carver on the road and fell 70-18. Crisp County has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Kayden Cooper was nothing short of spectacular for Carver: she scored 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Thornton, who scored 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.

Crisp County's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Carver, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Crisp County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Peach County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Carver, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Thomasville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Tigers are ranked 45th).
