Soccer Recap: Watauga Comes Up Short

Watauga lost against Newton-Conover back in August of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pioneers fell 4-2 to the Red Devils.

Noah Van Werkhoven and Evan Mawhinney scored both of Watauga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Watauga's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-2. As for Newton-Conover, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Watauga will face off against T.C. Roberson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newton-Conover, they have already played their next match, a 9-0 win against Maiden on the 9th.
