Volleyball Recap: Grapevine Takes a Loss

The Grapevine Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Ponder Lions on Friday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-11.

Grapevine's offense was headlined by Cheyenne Gunner and Claire Stewart, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Finley Love and her nine assists.

Among those leading the charge was Taelynn Harrison, who had 13 digs.

Grapevine's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 22-19. As for Ponder, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 26-11 record this season.

Grapevine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Liberty Christian on the 28th. As for Ponder, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Sunnyvale on the 27th.
