 Carroll is 8-2 against Fort Wayne Northrop since April of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Carroll Chargers are on the road again  to play the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins at 5:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Carroll proved they can win big  on Monday (they won by 12) but  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past DeKalb  7-5.
  Jaxon Sparks made a big impact no matter where he played. He  struck out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. Sparks was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Sparks wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jaxon Craker, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Fort Wayne Northrop lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fort Wayne Snider, but it's fair to say they've redeemed themselves given the result of 6's  match. Everything went Fort Wayne Northrop's way against Fort Wayne Snider in Saturday's  second game as Fort Wayne Northrop made off with  an  11-3 victory. Considering Fort Wayne Northrop has won four matchups by more than seven  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Like Carroll, Fort Wayne Northrop also got a great game from a two-way player:  Pernell Whitsett. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned runs off   six  hits. Whitsett has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Whitsett was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news, Fort Wayne Northrop let  Nathan Jessup and  Jayden Stout loose on the outfield. Jessup  went 1-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI, while  Stout  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jayden Sloniker, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Carroll is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, their record now sits at 6-2.
 Carroll skirted past Fort Wayne Northrop  2-0 when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carroll since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
