Basketball Recap: Livingston's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Livingston proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 22) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tarkington Longhorns 58-56. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions who have now won three games in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Livingston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cory Dirden, who went 8 for 9 en route to 17 points. Dirden continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ziekus Garner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Livingston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Tarkington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7.

Livingston will take on Hamshire-Fannett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season. As for Tarkington, they will face off against Hardin-Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hardin-Jefferson also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.5 points per game.
