Volleyball Recap: Annawan Comes Up Short

Annawan lost against Knoxville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Braves/Bravettes fell just short of the Blue Bullets by a score of 2-1. The Braves/Bravettes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Annawan started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-21.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Knoxville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Harshbarger, who had 19 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Harshbarger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Johnston, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Annawan's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Knoxville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Annawan will head out on the road to face off against Stark County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Knoxville, they will be playing at home against Sherrard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
