Volleyball Recap: Pearl River Comes Up Short

Pearl River lost against Nanuet last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pirates fell just short of the Golden Knights by a score of 3-2. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Pearl River took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17, 15-7.

Nanuet found their leader in sophomore Ciara Cortes, who had 18 assists and 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Cortes.

Pearl River now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Nanuet, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10-1.

Pearl River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nanuet, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeland on the 1st.
