Baseball Game Preview: Hinsdale Central Red Devils vs. Lyons Lions

The Hinsdale Central Red Devils will take on the Lyons Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Hinsdale Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hinsdale Central is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Oak Park-River Forest just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lyons, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Leyden on Saturday as they made off with an 11-3 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Luka Luburic looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Tommy Georgelos was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Nicholaus, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lyons' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
