Palatka waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the St. Joseph Academy Flashes. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

Tanner Akers and Jacob Gaskin did most of the damage at the plate: Akers scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Gaskin scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Gaskin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Malloy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Palatka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
