Baseball Recap: Berthoud Takes a Loss

Berthoud suffered their closest loss since March 31st on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wellington Eagles by a score of 6-4. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Caleb Lettieri was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Berthoud: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

Berthoud now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Wellington, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15.

While Berthoud had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
