Soccer Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Takes a Loss

Lugoff-Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Chapin Eagles, falling 7-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lugoff-Elgin of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Emily Vaughan, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Lugoff-Elgin squad sat out for Friday's contest. With Vaughan sitting this one out, Brayden Branham got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 35.3).

Lugoff-Elgin now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Chapin, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Lugoff-Elgin didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Ridge View on the 29th. As for Chapin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Cardinal Newman on the 29th.
