Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Gets the Win

Lincoln East posted their closest victory since April 15th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Millard West Wildcats, sneaking past 3-1. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lincoln East got a great performance from Santino Arranaga as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Arranaga a new career-high.

At the plate, Lincoln East's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Roach, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Kalai Larsen was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Lincoln East's win bumped their record up to 26-2. As for Millard West, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln East will face off against rival Creighton Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.1, the Bluejay 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Millard West is set to challenge their familiar foe Papillion-LaVista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
