* The Patriots have never drafted higher than No. 10 over the past 10 years, averaging around pick No. 24 over that span. The Patriots do not have a first round pick this year and they did not have one in 2013, either.
* The highest draft pick for the Patriots in the past 10 seasons is linebacker Jerrod Mayo in 2008. Mayo announced his retirement from the sport in March.
* The Patriots' best-ever second round pick? Probably Rob Gronkowski, taken with the No. 42 overall pick in 2010.
* New England's top wide receiver, Julian Edelman, was a seventh-round draft pick in 2009.
* The Patriots got good value out of their fourth round pick in 2006, grabbing kicker Stephen Gostkowski. He replaced all-pro Adam Vinatieri and has gone on to become one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history.
* The Patriots have drafted only one player who prepped in Massachusetts since 2006. Ron Brace of
Burncoat (Worcester, Mass.) was a second round pick in 2009.
* The Patriots have chosen 10 players from Texas since 2006.
