St. Anthony had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They managed a 77-72 win over the St. Dominic Bayhawks. Given the Friars' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Bayhawks are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Anthony's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Moore, who posted 22 points and five assists. Moore is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Aulicino, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points and five boards.

St. Anthony's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for St. Dominic, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
