Baseball Game Preview: Surry County Cougars vs. Brunswick Bulldogs

Surry County has gone 9-1 against Brunswick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Surry County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Surry County will head out to face Brunswick after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Cougars came up short against Hopewell, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, Brunswick fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Greensville County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-2. As for Brunswick, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Surry County took their win against Brunswick in their previous matchup last Thursday by a conclusive 14-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
