After losing to Troy Christian the last time they met, Bethel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bees came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bees.
While Bethel might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Troy Christian scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 25-21.
Layla Moore paced Bethel's offense, picking up 14 kills. Moore got some help from Annabelle Adams and her 11 assists. Jordyn Pham and Aubrey Bunting kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Troy Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reign Wilkins, who had 20 digs and two aces. Wilkins is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Bethel's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Troy Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bethel is set to face off against their familiar foe Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Troy Christian will take on rival Covington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
