Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Marines vs. Fremont Eagles

Hamilton hasn't had much luck against Fremont recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Marines will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Hamilton fell victim to Elkhart Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Marines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fremont hadn't beaten Prairie Heights on the road since May 16, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 14-9 win over the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Drew Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Emily Foster also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Fremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fremont's record is now 10-11. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Hamilton suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Fremont in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Marines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
