Basketball Recap: Bri Torres' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elkhart over Meade

If Elkhart was feeling good fresh off their 65-25 takedown of Rolla last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Elkhart Wildcats came up short against the Meade Buffaloes on Saturday, falling 55-34. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 42-29 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Elkhart's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bri Torres, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Camila Garcia, who had eight points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Elkhart dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Meade, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meade, they have already played their next contest, a 62-21 victory against Sublette on the 10th.
