Baseball Recap: Northland Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Northland waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the East Tigers. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Zayvion White was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cameron Wilson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Northland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northland's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Northland will challenge Mifflin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Punchers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for East, they will take on Beechcroft at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
