Basketball Recap: Clay County Comes Up Short

Clay County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 25-17 to the Braxton County Eagles. The Panthers were probably out for revenge after losing 43-32 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Braxton County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Pritt, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points and three steals. Pritt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laura Cain, who posted six points and four steals.

Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Braxton County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay County will welcome South Harrison at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Braxton County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Webster County at 7:15 p.m.
