Basketball Recap: South Lenoir Comes Up Short

South Lenoir extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Dixon Bulldogs, falling 55-15. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

As for Dixon, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Dixon found their leader in sophomore Lily Borden, who posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Leah Parker, who earned six points along with nine boards and three blocks.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. South Lenoir will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kinston at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Dixon, they will venture away from home to square off against Topsail at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
