Basketball Game Preview: Holy Family Tigers vs. Centaurus Warriors

The Holy Family Tigers will challenge the Centaurus Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Holy Family took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Niwot 64-39. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Centaurus over Summit in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Centaurus was the clear victor by a 65-40 margin over Summit. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 22 point advantage.

Holy Family better keep an eye on Sam Esposito. He was instrumental in Centaurus' win, going 10 of 15 en route to 25 points. The game was Esposito's third in a row with at least ten points. Harry Lyle was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Centaurus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Holy Family, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Holy Family won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, slipping by Centaurus 59-58. Does Holy Family have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centaurus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
