Midland Valley hadn't beaten Aiken on the road since March 12, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mustangs who were credited with the victory. The Midland Valley Mustangs got it done in the shootout by posting two goals to the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets' one. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Wednesday.

Imber Torres and Alex Bautista scored both of Midland Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Midland Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Aiken, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
