Basketball Game Preview: Midway Raiders vs. Fairmont Golden Tornadoes

Midway is 0-7 against Fairmont since February of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Midway Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m.

Midway is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Clinton, falling 56-33.

Meanwhile, Fairmont had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They took down the Red Devils 45-30. Given the Golden Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Red Devils are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairmont's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
