Basketball Recap: Weston Ranch Comes Up Short

Weston Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 54-12 loss at the hands of the Piedmont Highlanders. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-2.

When it comes to explaining why Weston Ranch lost, don't look at Ja'Naysha Green. Despite the final result, she posted five points and five steals. Green is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last five games she's played.

Weston Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Piedmont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weston Ranch will square off against Chavez at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weston Ranch is facing Chavez at the right time seeing as Chavez is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Piedmont, they will challenge Bishop O'Dowd at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
