Southeast Raleigh came tearing into Saturday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cleveland Rams by a score of 56-49. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Rams are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southeast Raleigh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trinity Dunn out in front who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dariyah Harris, who earned 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Cleveland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Angelia Dunn went 8 for 17 en route to 26 points. That was a full 53.1% of Cleveland's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Martina Paz-Aquino was another key player, putting up eight points.

Southeast Raleigh pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points over those games. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Raleigh will challenge Willow Spring at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Southeast Raleigh's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Cleveland, they will square off against South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Garner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.
