Recap: Tongue River Eagles vs. Southeast Cyclones
On Friday, the Tongue River Eagles faced the Southeast Cyclones in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Tongue River walked away with a 43-34 win over Southeast. This was payback for Tongue River, who suffered a 50-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Ayden Desmond, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kannon Tippets, who scored nine points.
Tongue River pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Tongue River will face off against Douglas at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast, they will take on Hot Springs County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
